Old Friends and HOME!

Today is the final day of our trip. We are so excited to get home. We all can't wait to see Papa, Fundy, the garden, the tree house, our beds, etc. We woke up in Ottawa, Ontario, with a feeling of rising excitement within. After 5 weeks and 2 days of non-stop adventure, we finally would get to return home.

Our route took us right by our old hometown of Georgia, VT, so some of our friends from when we were little gathered with us for lunch. It was great to see everyone. It's been almost 9 years since we lived there. We have all changed so much since we were in play group together, but it's great that we have remained friends.

    

After visiting our friends, we piled back into to the car for the final stretch home. All of us were full of such excitement to get home which was just about 2 hours away. A good audio book helped the time fly by and before we knew it, we were driving up our driveway. Fundy was waiting at the top of the driveway for us - we couldn't get out of the car fast enough to hug her. Everyone had huge smiles splayed across their faces; even Fundy was wiggling her fluff ball of a tail and had her mouth open in the happiest doggy smile.

Next stop was the veggie garden. The whole trip, especially the past week, we have been fretting over the garden's lack of care and could not wait to eat a juicy cherry tomato. When we reached the garden, I couldn't believe the place - it was absolutely booming with life, although not all of it edible. It has been taken over by giant weed trees. Despite the weeds, there is still lots of produce. For dinner, we had zucchini pasta, a cucumber salad, and peas. Our first 2016 garden meal, and it tasted fantastic. We also ran around checking all of our flowers gardens and just couldn't get over how beautiful everything is. Going away helped us to appreciate the paradise in which we live.
