DAY 2:
Today, we are driving to Freedom, Indiana, where we will visit our Uncle Ed, Aunt Leanne, and Cam on their farm. The drive is shorter today, which is good since we went to bed late and got going a little later than expected. It also has rapidly changed from hilly to completely flat fields of corn.
Once we arrive at their 90 acre horse farm, we are welcomed with open arms. We are immediately given a tour of the farm, including meeting the horses and the donkey. Tamale, the mini donkey, is the best. We totally want a mini donkey now. Uncle Ed said that Tamale and the horses were particularly friendly and cuddly with us. We also get a very special golf cart ride. Maya is excited by some quails, so we stop for a moment and take some quick pics.
Next, we head inside for some chicken and orzo and an appetizer of carrots and broccoli. It’s pretty good! Everyone is humored by Leanne and Cam’s silly arguments over buns vs rolls, when to eat, or any other little thing they can think of. Its very entertaining.
Then, the topic changes once again the strawberry moon tonight. I go out and take some pics, but the others head to bed. There’s some heat lightning off in the distance, and I watch it cut through the sky every once and a while as the moon rises. When the moon comes above the treetops, its so big and beautiful!!!I get some nice shots, then head in and get a little bit of work done before going to sleep.
All in all, a pretty good, chill, day on the farm. In the morning, we helped to feed the horses and then hit the road again.
